Family Feud

I've honestly been paying more attention to Making The Band...and I can see why it gets the attention it does.
For a bit, I've been following up on this character Que(Light skinned - angry one in the video) and I've been shaking my head in disgust over his actions and words.
But I've come to realize after watching this clip, where everything was coming from.

Honestly, being in a group is not easy.
Take us for example.
3 different people, 3 different backgrounds, 3 different agendas, 3 different egos, 3 different priorities, 3 different morals, just basically 3 different identities.
For all 3 of us to be on the same page, working at the same pace, in perfect harmony is not something that comes easy.
We work, we're tired, we're stressed.
Rest assured, we have jobs outside of music.
It's only after that work is done that we start on our other job,
and a lot of times, that takes a toll on you.
I guess I'm writing this entry to sorta give you guys insight that everything isn't daisys and sunflowers.
We work hard to make the music that we make, and we receive a lot of discouragement from the littlest things sometimes.
I mean...what's the point of knowing your the best, when there's no one to recognize it?

On a brighter note, our video is still up on YouTube.
Some of you may find it funny, some of you may it absurd....
We're just not THAT into being thugs. LOL.

Love us or hate us, as long as you think of us.

4.4.09

Long overdue....so without further ado. (THANK YOU)

Apologies for the very few of you who keep up with the blog.
We have been lazy, nonchalant, sick, irresponsible, and simply caught up in life's bullshits to be updating.
Once again, we apologize.

Let's see......

I would like to start off the entry by going over and putting my two cents in on a couple of things that have happened recently.
For those of you who were interested in the Cam'Ron vs Jim Jones quarrel, Jim Jones' new album "Pray IV Reign" came out March 24th. I was probably the only Korean guy who picked it up(Lucky Lefty).
I'd have to say that Jim Jones did get better. But not good enough yet. Though Dame Dash snubbed his new album a new "Reasonable Doubt" its nothing close to a classic. He still doesn't fit regular standard raps, sounds like mixtape quality verses, and badly overdone ad-libs. Nonetheless, he did improve.

Precious feat Ryan Leslie. Great hook. Nothing more. Go Download it.

Next, I attended the I AM Music tour at the Gibson Amphitheater on March 29th.
The line-up was as follows:

T-Pain's Goons.
Keri Hilson
Gym Class Heroes
T-Pain
The man himself, Mr. Carter.

- I'd have to say Keri Hilson wasn't that great of a performer. She was mediocre, didn't have too much energy, and failed to narrate her performance properly.
- Gym Class Heroes got the crowd a little more hyped thanks to Keri's poor performance. But Travis is a weirdo. I wasn't feeling him too much, and he talked a little bit too much and tried to get the crowd hyped by using the "Obama" fuck Bush approach. It's too late for that friend.
- T-Pain was by far the most impressive performer that night. Although he doesn't use much of his voice (he plays the real songs) and barley sings, he is ONE HELL OF A DANCER. He had so many hits, it was really hard not to get into the crowd. You can see the authenticity of how much he wanted to really perform for the fans. He got into a golf-cart accident 3 days before, said he was in a lot of pain, but still gave it his 100% to put on the show. He won over my respect for sure. He has talent, no matter how many people try to knock his robot voice.

- Lil Wayne's performance was greatly anticipated. I truly saw the power of his stardom once he came on. He kept the crowd waiting in the dark for a good 15 minutes, but satisfied the crowd by a hilarious introduction. He's a very very funny guy. He completely loses his cool on stage which makes him look even more cooler. He blasted the set off with the song Mr. Carter, and got into "Money On My Mind" leading to a duet with T-Pain's "Got Money". They dominated the stage and the crowd with ease as Keri Hilson made her way back for "Turnin' Me On". This is where the night started getting dry. He sorta lost the focus of the crowd by performing mediocre songs. Lil Wayne alone had 100 songs last year, and he could've picked better songs to perform. I was disappointed he wasn't performing some of his most famous cuts....but he did bring out Drizzy Drake....and made out with a singer.....and crawled on the floor a couple of times....all in all....I think I can say I enjoyed T-Pain's performance, but enjoyed Lil Wayne's presence.

Now......

here's the highlight of my entry...

I went to San Bernandino the previous day for "Paid Dues" concert.
It sucked. It looked like a little better version of Jangtuh(Korean Festival), with a little pond in the middle. The event started at 3, and Blu "performed" at 4(later I would find out he didn't make it cause of traffic). Joe Budden wasn't performing till 8, so I decided to stop by Morongo....I got carried away and ended up missing Joe Budden's performance which was pushed up cause Blu didn't come to perform.
Bummed out, tired, and sick of seeing college boys throw up in public, I left.
Then my partner in rhyme Mike B texts me telling me he sees Joe Budden right infront of him.
Fuck me Sally. Turn the car around, and I run full fledged to the booth where he's selling his merchandise. I can't believe I see him infront of me.
I told myself that if I ever got a chance to talk to him, I would do myself a favor and spit a line for him. Not to get signed, not to get noticed, but to see how relevant he thought I was in the rap game. And being that I was behind 30 people, didn't seem like I had much of a shot.
But.......(dun dun dun)

I caught that Joe Budden was going to leave, and being that he was in a tent-type booth, he was trying to exit out the back. Good thing I'm not fat, I ran to the back just in time to catch him. He tells me sarcastically, "I am a trained MMA fighter, I will have to attack you if I feel threatned." I go into a rant about how much of a fan I am of his music, and ask him for my dreamed and practiced favor. He gets down on one knee and says, "Please, let me hear it."
I go into my verse, stumbling, nervous, and I make it out.
He looks at me and says, "I will see you at the top. (Comes closer with his arms around me) Do not worry, you are good. YOU ARE GOOD." He signs my ticket and storms off with his entourage.....I went bezerk. Then that feeling went away 2 minutes later by the question in my head, did he really mean it?

I have a bad quality picture, but I'll post it up.

Damn. This was a long entry. If you read it, good. If you didn't, great.

Million Dollar Babies are guest performing a featured song with J OVANNI at the House of Blues tomorrow. Show starts at 9pm. One song, and we're outta there.

I don't really know what's going to happen with Million Dollar Babies as of this moment...so...I guess that saves us another entry.

.fuckin' life.

SOME CRAZY ANIMATION.. IRON MAN VS BRUCE LEE

i saw this on kanye's blog a week or so ago..seriously how do they do this?

ENJOY!!

1.4.09

UPDATE!! SHOUT OUT TO MR JOHN LEE! LOL

just a quick update on what's been going on with the BABIES.. once again shout out to john.. he's been constantly adamant about us updating this blog.. LOL

this is jkid btw

We did the Paul Wall show a couple of weeks ago... shout out to everyone that made it and supported..
the response was good... lots of different nationalities came up to us and told us they really felt it.. it just sucked cuz they werent servin booze that night so everyone was boogie'n and not getting crunk.. na' mean?

LL..lucky lefty... well before i tell you news about him... let me tell a lil on how this guy operates.. he's a spurter.. if you know what i mean ... this means.. he works in spurts..he'll get an incredible amount of work done in a short time.. and then it'll be a long break after that... i guess all of us operate in that way but..
there was one week where he was writing like no other.. everyday i saw him he had new verses.. and not like mediocre soft shit.. i mean.. it'll blow away your favorite rapper's verse on any given Sunday type shit..i was blownnn away.. im itching to give yall some of my favorite punch lines from those things but.. itll not do it justice.. anyway.. i think he was ready to make like 7-8 songs all by hisself in just one week.. crazyy.. i as producer couldn't even come close to making enough beats to give those verses a home..

and so Mike B was quiet for a bit.. he makes niggas wait for his shit like he's the prince of Egypt or something.. but its always worth the wait..he came with two verses in the following week or two and .. mannnnnnn... i wish i could dish out some of his punch lines but as well.. i almost wanted to give up ever rappin... LOL

and so A LOT of people have been asking when our next project is gunna drop.. honest answer... IDK!! we still in talks... we have new material.. and some songs that've been shelv'n it for a bit.. and we have enough unrecorded material to make another mixtape.. or we could aim for an all original official CD.. that'll take a bit longer obviously..

FEEDBACKKKK!!! give us your opinions on what yall think.. new mixtape..like pronto.. or CD in a lil bit??

Joe Budden : Padded Room review

hi haters.
i know what your thinking as soon as you read the blog title.
that "pump it up" guy? does he still rap?
do yourself a favor. drop what your doing and spare 5 minutes to read this entry.
hopefully, if your a fan of music and you really can't "live without it" then you'll have a new found respect for Joe Budden.

Joe Budden released his self titled album (Joe Budden) in 2003 with the hit single "Pump it Up" that was short-lived and vanished from the scenes of mainstream hip-hop and radio waves.
Shortly after the announcement of Jay-Z's retirement, his hiatus from the rap game was voided with his new debut of mixtapes titled, "Mood Muzik".
Teaming up with DJ On Point, he released a slew of emotional records touching base from poverty, depression, drugs, suicidial tendencies, and problems that most rappers are scared to touch base with.
With his mixtapes in circuit, he developed a following much bigger than his "Pump it UP" fan base.
After numerous attempts to release his sophmore album through Def Jam, he was shelved. Frustration and anticipating fans for new materials forced him to release a 2nd addition to his "Mood Muzik" mixtape series. But still, no album.
After continuous drama with the label, struggles, and delayed release dates, Joe Budden dropped himself from Def Jam the label leading to a 3rd addition to his "Mood Muzik" mixtape.
A year and some change later, finally.....his 2nd Album in 6 years...."Padded Room"

He's currently engaged with a group of super-rappers (Crooked I, Joell Ortiz, Royce da 5'9,) called Slaughter House and I came across a flyer informing me of their performance at Paid Dues concert on March 28th in CA.
Me and Michael drove over to Fatbeast to purchase the tickets as well as my copy of "Padded Room".
This is where my honest opinion starts.

Honestly, this album didn't really showcase Joe Budden's full potential as a rapper. He fumbled through song concepts, and failed to grasp the whole conceptual outlook to intertwine with the title, "Padded Room". Track after track, I was looking for the familiar Joe Budden, and that's exactly what I found towards the end of the album.

"Do Tell"

Tell my mother I'm sorry I never meant to hurt her
And even when I did I never meant to take it further

Tell my father I love him Dot dot etcetera
He use to give me advice like a plethora
I tried to find myself but I'se your replica
I mean I only tried to be what you never was
Tell my older brother I'm bad at being a brother
I know I never told you just how highly I think of ya

Tell my grandmother man she's always been a friend of me
I would've visited more if I wasn't in to me...

Faithfully tell everybody who hated me
Basically all it ever did was motivated me

They say I'm difficult so to put it simply
Tell the world I never cared it was against me

If niggas want to kill me tell em I already died
Tell anybody that will listen i tried
Till the water ran dry tell the water get the fuck out my eyes

I tell em that I'm grown really I ain't finish growing
Look tell failure I ain't want to get to know em

Tell the stereotypes I tried them shits on they didn't fit me
Tell who ever I wronged I apologize
They tell me though there bumps in the road
But still I gotta ride they tell me I got a lotta pride
I tell them how the fuck you gone tell me what I got inside

Then they wanna lecture a nigga tell me life is what you make it
That's when I tell them I beg to differ

after I heard this song...I want bananas in the car.
I was krumping. I couldn't put into words how much he connects with the listener.
How can anyone deny his talent?

this next song is a concept of him talking to God when he died.
"Murder Was The Case - Snoop Dogg" type of record.

God:
Your real close to heaven, few get to step in
now tell me what you've done to deserve to be let in?

Joe:
Look I'm far from a christian Not big on religion
But aint done too much wrong my entire time living
Never killed never tried too tho I been lied to
Was once suicidal never read the bible
I always been a care taker tried to nurse people
At times it back fired hurt people hurt people
Plus I never use your name in vain
But you should know everything I'm being asked to explain

Look I'm only human I aint perfect.

God:
That I understand. When I take you out a jam
you don't even think to worship, and when you do...
you never talk about what you can do for me its what I can do for you?
I blessed you with health, family and wealth
with all the blessings you received you still always want help

Joe:
Yeah theres been times in my life I needed help to make money
But why everything I love you manage to take from me?
Yet you stand there an question a nigga that tries hard
and finds a way when you keep dealing them FUCKED up cards!

You make mistakes like ME far as I can see
I think its a mockery whenever rich niggas win the lottery
Gave us Bush twice God I hate to be rude
But you let skinny niggas starve give obese niggas food
THE NERVE of you telling me I don't deserve to stay here
When you gave us drugs and GUNS you put AIDS here!

Take a look at you, your actions are cold hearted
The harsh shit is you bring babies in the world retarded
I know most my actions put me in a cell
But how you mad at me when you put me in the hell

God:
See my child you need gratitude, maybe just a sample
I never give a person anything they cant handle
Don't tell me about everything you had to go through
there's reasons for my actions even if I never showed you
Kept trying with you all you did was hurt me
still gave you chances to prove that you was worthy
and so I sat with you on a train I asked you for change
you kept calling me names. Prolly didnt notice
I was the store clerk, you put the gun to me get money for more work
my child I know you have it in you to indeed stop
this is not your final calling just a brief stop
Hope you heed my words and understand
so when I see you back you should be a better man
look at life different the next time we see each other
there be no need for talk whenever we meet each other

Padded Room. In stores now.

I don't need to explain shit.

Here's one of the first lines I fell in love with.

"Ain't shit like seeing your moms cryin on the floor,
knowing you the reason why she ain't aight no more"

its been a long two weeks.
honestly, we haven't been able to rest since we came back from the magic convention.
things have been picking up for us.
some for good, some for bad. there were a lot of talks about things in the air, and still some in the shadows, but none too certain to say yet. but hopefully we'll deliver some news soon.

it was really hard performing for me(lucky lefty) to perform on friday. i put a lot of strain on my body for the last two weeks and my voice was already close to being gone before i started performing.
after the performance, my right side of the throat is swollen on the inside and out, and i can't hear well out of my right ear.

thank you to everyone who made friday night happen. kasa, chongdae, entitled, and the people that pushed for us when it wasn't going to happen!
geney from riverside, yujin from ucla, csupomona's kasa president, and big shout out to SLIM! you got juice mang.

i would also like to thank everyone who didn't hesistate to pay us a compliment on friday.
it felt good connecting with people that are relevant in today's society as a major shareholder in opinion.
and to those who were too shy or prideful to tell us, its ok buddies, next time. next time.
